How It Works
This simulation demonstrates natural selection and evolution in a simplified ecosystem:
- Critters (colored dots) move around searching for food
- Each critter has unique traits: movement speed and sensing radius
- Critters need energy to survive - movement costs energy, food provides energy
- When a critter has enough energy, it can reproduce
- Offspring inherit traits with slight mutations
- Over time, the population evolves traits that help them survive
Watch how traits like speed and sensing radius change over generations!
